Our Story: Imprints & Ink is an Irish fashion and illustration brand which celebrates the beauty of Ireland’s native plants through considered design. The Rare Treasures collection shines a light on some of our rarest plant species and highlights the importance of their conservation.

• Our notebooks are designed and hand-bound in Ireland using traditional bookbinding techniques. Their 100% silk covers are printed in Italy.

Inspiration: The Sword-leaved Helleborine is one of Ireland’s most beautiful wild orchids. It is also one of the very rarest, found only in a handful of scattered locations across Ireland. Although many of us associate orchids with exotic climates, there are 30 native Irish species. Irish orchids are often small and unassuming, adding to the charm and mystery of these exquisite, often elusive, flowers.

The Sword-leaved Helleborine is among the most striking of Irish orchids; its pure white bell-shaped flowers and narrow pointed leaves are distinctively elegant. This rare Irish orchid is vulnerable to extinction and is fully protected under the Flora Protection Order, such plants must not be collected or interfered with.

In this design, I wanted to showcase the delicate beauty of this particular Irish orchid, but also to bring a little-known part of our natural heritage to light. By sharing the wonder of these plants with a wider audience, more people can enjoy, appreciate and value Irish orchids and the places they grow, safeguarding their habitats for generations to come.

Packaging: All of of our Imprints & Ink products are beautifully packaged and ready for gifting. Each notebook is lovingly wrapped in our signature patterned tissue paper. We hope that this will be saved and reused! Our carefully considered story cards accompany each notebook and detail the inspiration behind the design.

Where possible, we endeavor to use packaging that is as sustainable as possible. We hope that you will reuse our packaging but all of our packaging can also be recycled.
